Encounter Coaching is a life-change methodology based on the way Jesus taught.
Typically, when we set out to change, we start with a behavior we don’t like and use self-discipline to alter what we do. That way of change starts on the outside, focuses on something negative, and depends on us to make the change.
Jesus’ way is the exact opposite: He begins on the inside, his focus is on the positive thing he is giving us (like filling our desires in relationship with him), and his process doesn’t depend on our discipline but his gift.
Encounter Coaching has three key features that distinguish it from other coaching approaches:
It coaches a different brain – We work with the emotional brain to bring change to a person’s inner world of core beliefs, emotional memories and desires. It’s in this deep place of the heart where most people get ‘stuck.’
It uses a different change methodology – We use live encounters with Jesus as a core part of the coaching methodology. Our belief is that Jesus is a superior coach!
It aims for a different outcome – The goal is heart transformation, believing that Jesus is more interested in connecting with your heart than your good behavior.
